The special election process to replace Democrat Jeff Clemens in the Florida Senate is underway, and Palm Beach County Elections Supervisor Susan Bucher says it will cost state taxpayers about $1 million by the time the seat is filled.

Early voting began over the weekend ahead of next Tuesday’s Democratic primary between state Rep. Lori Berman and retired federal employee Arthur Morrison. The primary winner will face Republican Tami Donnally in an April 10 general election.
