Image (2) fulton-150x112.jpg for post 37675Mothers of the Movement — black women whose children died in police custody or through gun violence — were in Riviera Beach Monday to tout Democrat Hillary Clinton ahead of the night’s much-anticipated presidential debate.

The mothers of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner and Sandra Bland held a closed-to-the-press event with community members in Riviera Beach and then made their pitch for action to end gun violence and police misconduct.

The more deaths of black men in Tulsa, Okla. and Charlotte, N.C., at the hands of law enforcement, which have led to increased calls for policing reforms and more respect for police, also have made race an increasingly important factor in the presidential race.
