Grayson’s Democratic opponent, U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy of Jupiter, supports Clinton and has been endorsed by many of the party’s leaders. Grayson has supported Sanders in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Grayson, of Orlando, was already subject of a congressional ethics probe into his hedge fund activity. The complaint by the American Democracy Legal Fund was filed with the Federal Elections Commission, which earlier submitted three complaints to the FEC against Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.
